Dr. Christopher Wilfred Guta was born on 5th September, 1959. Having qualified first in the field of Chemistry, he joined the public service in 1982 working at the Malawi Bureau of Standards until 1991. This tour of duty was followed by another at the then Malawi Industrial Research and Technology Development Centre which ended in 2014 following his appointment to the Press Group as General Manager for PressCane Limited. On 7 April, 2015 Dr. Guta was assigned the duties of General Manager (Operations) at PCL Corporate Office to lend support to energy development projects including PressCane’s RAMA Project. He rejoined PressCane as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 January, 2016. He has a passion for economic growth and development with learning and innovation as an entry point and is focused on applying these tools to enable PressCane Limited achieve its vision and mission.

Bryson Mkhomaanthu Bryson Mkhomaanthu

Chief Operations Officer

Bryson Mkhomaanthu was born on 11th February 1975. He joined the Company on 2nd March 2009 as a Plant Engineer, before promotion to the position of Operation Manager in February 2015. Prior to this, he worked as Mechanical Engineer at Unilever for 4 years. He started his career in 2000 as Management Trainee and later Maintenance Planner at Southern Bottlers and Carlsberg Malawi respectively. He has vast experience in maintenance planning and project management having worked for very busy and dynamic organisations for over 15years.


Francis Mndolo Francis Mndolo 
Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer

Mr Francis Mndolo is a seasoned HR practitioner with more than 20 years’ experience and a full member of the Institute of People Management Malawi (IPMM). He holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the East and Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI). On 18 March 1997, he joined NBS Bank Limited (formerly New Building Society) and rose through the ranks from Personnel Assistant to Acting Head of Human Resources and Administration. He joined PressCane Limited on 14th September 2009 and his day to day duties involve but not limited to planning, counselling, handling grievances and disciplinary issues, leading, controlling, mentoring and coaching.

Chaupi ChihanaChaupi Chihana 
Chief Finance Officer

Chaupi Chihana joined Presscane in February 2015 as Chief Finance Officer after over 20 years of progressive audit experience with Deloitte.  She is also Company Secretary and Public Officer of the company.  Whilst managing treasury and financial affairs of the company, Chaupi is involved in strategy shaping and policy formulation and implementation. The Deloitte experience gave her vast knowledge and experience related to leadership, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), governance, company law, labour laws/human resource management, taxation including income and indirect taxes; and exchange control regulation. Other industry specific knowledge include the banking/insurance sector.
